To accommodate 48 Bowlers all on the Green at one time our Captain Bob devised a completely new type of bowling – by cutting the green into two sections allowing twelve games at once.
This worked extremely well once members got accustomed to the ultra-short jacks.
After five enjoyable games each team picked a person to participate in another new challenge which involved bowling into the corner through gaps between measured out cones. As seen in the photos spectators got more than a bit excited as the pressure built up.
After all this it was time to retire inside to the ‘Rivers Bar’ for a drink. This was quickly followed by the presentation of medals to the winning team and then straight on to the mega raffle.
We finished off with a splendid two course buffet provided by the catering team.
This has to have been one of the most enjoyable club social events in recent memory. All thanks to Bob and his team of helpers.
