STONE CROWN BOWLING
2021 SEASON UPDATE No 7
INTRODUCTION
With activities at the club continuing to return to more
like normal I just have a few things to share with you this month.
CORONAVIRUS
RESTRICTIONS
In keeping with the latest Government easing of restrictions
and advice gleaned from scientists we have decided to cease the sanitising of
equipment during the bowling sessions. The sanitising equipment will still be
made available should you be more comfortable in cleaning the equipment after
use. We would also encourage you to sanitise your hands after each game, this
does mitigate any risk.
We are going to continue taking registrations for the Social
Bowling at the Fire Door as this is the preference of the members running the
sessions.
The changing room is now available if you wish to use it. It
is quite a small space so please try to avoid crowding and ensure that the
windows are opened.
The wearing of masks remains optional but please do your
best to avoid crowding when inside the clubhouse.
BOWLING PROGRAMME
1. Finals Day A notice will be going up this weekend
regarding Finals day which is to be held on Saturday 21st August. Please add your names if you wish
to come along and indicate whether you will be staying for the Buffet Tea. I
will be looking for members to help with the Scoring and Measuring of games
throughout the day so if you can help please tick the boxes on the poster. I
intend to arrange a Raffle during the day so if you are willing to donate a
small prize for this raffle please let me know or drop these off nearer the
time in the Office.
2. Indoor Bowling Before we know it the end of the
season will be upon us so it is time to start planning the Indoor Bowling from
October to March. A notice will be going up this weekend to gauge the level of
interest. Please add your name and indicate which days you will be looking to
attend. We will also be looking for volunteers to run some of the sessions so
please indicate this on the poster.
CLUB COMPETITIONS
As we approach the 1st August it will be time to
complete all of the Semi Finals by the 15th
August so that I can prepare for the Finals Day the following week. For
those lucky enough to still be in the competitions please make sure you arrange
your matches in good time. If you would like Scorers and Measurers for your
Semi Finals please let me know in good time when you will be playing and I will
try to recruit volunteers during the Social Bowling sessions.
FIRST AID COURSE
It is now 3 years since the last course and the committee
have arranged a new course on Thursday 28th October at a cost of £40.00 each,
but members are asked to pay just £10.00 of this if they attend, as the
committee consider the welfare of members to be very important. 8 members who attended the last course wish
to have an update but there are at least 4 places available. Please contact
