INTRODUCTION
With the changes to the Government COVID easing Roadmap we have had to make some significant changes to the programme, which are detailed below. There are also a number of other notes that have come out of our recent committee meeting.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED
I make no apologies for making this the first update. We need volunteers to ensure that the club continues to operate successfully as it has done for many years. We have two long standing members that have been trying to stand down but thus far no one has come forward to help.
We are real in need of a new Treasurer and a new Green Manager. Please respond if you can help.
BOWLING PROGRAMME
1. Captain’s Day. We have decided that Captain’s Day should be POSTPONED due to the delay in lifting the Covid restrictions. As entries have been so popular it was felt that reducing it to 30 and excluding a large number of members would not be fair. The new date will now be Saturday 11th September. Further notifications will be forthcoming.
2. Stone Crown Challenge. As a consequence of the above we have decided to CANCEL this years’ Stone Crown Challenge scheduled for Sunday 12th September. Under the circumstances we feel it is better to concentrate on Club events rather than the complication of accommodating large numbers from multiple clubs.
3. Barbeque. Similarly, the planned BBQ has been moved back to Sunday 25th July.
4. Relaxed Bowling. Due to the above changes the Relaxed Bowling has been brought forward to Sunday 18 July as there are usually fewer numbers for this event.
5. Tea/Coffee/Biscuits/Prize Money. From Monday 28th June we will be recommencing Tea, Coffee and Biscuits on Social Bowling Days. This will include the collection of member’s £1 contributions and Prize Money for the bowling.
CLUB COMPETITIONS
There are still a large number of Preliminary and First Round matches that need to be played by Sunday 4th July. Please arrange these matches as soon as possible over the next two weeks. Your co-operation would be appreciated.
NEW MEMBERS EVENING
A reminder that the New Members evening will be held on Friday 25th June combined with the normal Friday evening social bowling. Starting at 5pm, all members can attend if they wish and latecomers will be welcome also. Fish and Chips can be ordered on the night. The price list is attached.
FIRST AID COURSE
We are planning a First Aid course for October. Full details will be published once the date has been finalised.
POTTERS
The Club Break to Potters Resort has been booked for 7 March 2022. Final details are now on the Notice Board in the Clubhouse.
