INTRODUCTION
This update outlines some of the changes that have happened during April.
GREEN ACCESS
BCGBA issued an update to their guidelines for the 12th April in line with the Government roadmap Step 2. However there was nothing in the guideline update that suggested any changes to our current bowling arrangements which are for Online Booking, ‘rule of six’. Therefore from May 1st up to May 17th please keep using the booking system. From May 17th we are very much hoping to return to Social Bowling although we will be limited to a maximum of 30 members outdoors and there will be some restrictions in the use of indoors.
Owing to an excellent Open Day we have recruited a good number of new members. As a result the coaching team have reserved the green at the following times for training. No booking will be available for these times.
- Tuesday 4th 11th and 18th May 2.30 p.m. until 4.00 p.m.
- Saturdays 8th 15th and 22nd May 10.30 a.m. until 12 noon.
Please play your part by welcoming new members that you meet and help them to settle in.
BOWLING PROGRAMME
There have been a number of changes to the bowling programme. Our friendly matches against Stafford BC, Betley BC and Stonefield BC during the early part of May have been postponed to a later date. Betley has moved to the 26th September and dates for the other two are to be agreed later. Tatenhill BC has decided to cancel for this year and just have internal bowling. A revised copy of the programme accompanies this update.
GREEN MAINTENANCE
As you are aware Martin Robinson wishes to stand down as Green Manager. If there is anyone with the skills that would like to take over the role please let us know. Also it would be of great help to the club if some members were willing to assist with the green maintenance. Our current team is down on numbers and more volunteers are required.
BOWLING ROTA
A couple of committee members have unexpectedly had to stand down at the beginning of the season leaving the Social Bowling rota with some gaps. If any previous members that have run Social Bowling in the past can lend a hand please contact me to discuss what dates you would be able to help out. Many Thanks.
